Causes
Dr. Clark explains that most fevers, especially fevers of unknown origin, are caused by Salmonella and Shigella bacteria, often repeatedly introduced through contaminated dairy products or foods prepared by others. Even a strong immune system may not keep up with daily exposure to bacteria from raw or improperly handled food.
Symptoms
- Elevated body temperature
- General weakness
- Sweating, chills, or body aches, depending on severity
Treatments
- Let the fever work:
- Fever is a natural defense. Reduce it only if it exceeds 39°C (102°F), and only slightly.
- Eliminate bacterial sources:
- Stop eating dairy unless thoroughly cooked.
- Avoid salads and foods prepared by others unless sterilized.
- Eliminate any food that can’t be heated properly before eating.
- Address the root cause:
- If the fever is due to Salmonella or Shigella, consider using Lugol’s iodine (see flu section) and the Bowel Program to eliminate bacterial reservoirs from the intestines.
- Use a zapper to clear bacteria from tissues.
