Chronic inflammation

5 min read

This post is also available in: Español (Spanish)

Chronic inflammation is one of the most common underlying processes behind modern chronic illness. Unlike acute inflammation, which is a short-term immune response to injury or infection, chronic inflammation persists for months or years. In this state, the immune system remains constantly activated. Tissues are repeatedly irritated, white blood cells remain engaged, and toxic metabolic waste accumulates in the body.

Dr. Hulda Clark identified the main mechanism behind this persistent immune irritation. Chronic inflammation arises when the body is burdened simultaneously by pathogens and pollutants. Parasites, bacteria, viruses, toxins, and contaminated foods maintain a constant immune reaction that never fully resolves.

The core mechanism: pathogens and toxins #

According to Dr. Clark’s findings, chronic inflammation is primarily driven by two interacting factors:

  • Parasites and other pathogens
  • Environmental and food-borne toxins

Parasites carry bacteria and viruses inside their bodies and release toxic metabolic waste products into surrounding tissues. These substances irritate cells and stimulate the immune system continuously.

At the same time environmental pollutants accumulate in organs such as the liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, and connective tissue. These pollutants weaken detoxification processes and allow pathogens to persist in the body.

The immune system then operates under constant pressure. White blood cells remain mobilized, immune signaling stays elevated, and tissues are repeatedly exposed to inflammatory chemicals.

This persistent immune activation eventually damages tissues and disrupts normal organ function.

Pathogens involved in chronic inflammation #

Dr. Clark found that many chronic inflammatory conditions involve parasites that carry bacteria and viruses. These pathogens can invade organs, tissues, and immune cells, creating long-lasting immune irritation.

Common pathogen groups are:

  • Parasites: Flukes, roundworms such as ascaris, intestinal parasites and tissue parasites. Parasites act as carriers. They harbor bacteria and viruses and release metabolic waste that irritates surrounding tissues.
  • Yeasts: Candida and other yeasts frequently appear in chronic illness. Yeasts can host bacteria and viruses and contribute to toxic fermentation products.
  • Bacterial infections: Chronic bacterial infections can persist in tissues, joints, digestive organs, or the respiratory tract.
  • Viruses: Viruses are frequently found together with parasites or bacteria. Examples include Epstein–Barr virus, cytomegalovirus, herpes viruses, and others that infect tissues and immune cells.

The combined presence of parasites, bacteria, yeasts, and viruses keeps the immune system constantly stimulated.

Food-related inflammation: mold toxins #

Food contamination is another major source of chronic inflammation.

Dr. Clark identified mold toxins in common foods as frequent contributors to immune irritation. These toxins are produced by microscopic molds that grow on grains, cereals, nuts, dried foods, and stored agricultural products.

Important mold toxins include:

  • Aflatoxin
  • Zearalenone
  • Sterigmatocystin
  • Ergot toxins
  • Patulin

These toxins irritate tissues, weaken immunity, and disrupt organ function. Mold toxins also appear in frequency testing tables used in Clark therapy protocols, confirming their frequent presence in chronic illness.

Foods at highest risk include mold-contaminated grains, cereals, nuts, coffee, and improperly stored foods.

When mold toxins enter the body regularly through diet, the immune system is exposed to constant irritation.

Environmental toxins and chemical pollutants #

Environmental pollution further amplifies chronic inflammation. Dr. Clark repeatedly identified chemical pollutants in tissues of chronically ill patients.

Common pollutants include:

  • Solvents such as benzene and propyl alcohol
  • Heavy metals
  • Industrial chemicals
  • Chemical additives in food
  • Mold toxins and mycotoxins

These substances accumulate in organs and interfere with detoxification processes. When the liver and kidneys are overloaded, toxins circulate longer in the bloodstream and tissues.

This situation increases immune stress and promotes persistent inflammatory reactions.

Symptoms of chronic inflammation #

Chronic inflammation often develops slowly and may initially appear as vague or nonspecific symptoms.

Common signs include:

  • Persistent fatigue
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Digestive problems
  • Skin irritation or rashes
  • Brain fog and reduced concentration
  • Frequent infections
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Sensitivity to foods or chemicals

Over time inflammation spreads to different organs and tissues.

Diseases linked to chronic inflammation #

Persistent immune irritation can affect almost every organ system. Dr. Clark associated chronic inflammation with numerous chronic diseases. Main examples include:

  1. Arthritis: Joint inflammation arises when pathogens and toxins accumulate in connective tissue and joints.
  2. Fibromyalgia: Muscle pain and nerve sensitivity occur when parasites, bacteria, and pollutants irritate muscle tissue and nerves.
  3. Skin inflammation: Eczema, rashes, and chronic skin irritation often reflect toxin elimination through the skin when detox organs are overloaded.
  4. Digestive disorders: Inflammation of the intestines, stomach, or liver often involves parasites, bacteria, and mold toxins.
  5. Neurological problems: Persistent immune stress and toxin exposure can affect the brain and nervous system.
  6. Cancer: Chronic inflammation damages tissues and creates conditions where tumors may develop.

How Dr. Clark’s therapy addresses chronic inflammation #

Dr. Clark’s therapy focuses on removing the causes of chronic inflammation rather than suppressing symptoms.

The central strategy is to eliminate pathogens and toxins that keep the immune system activated.

Key components include:

  1. Parasite cleanse: Her parasite cleanse removes parasites that carry bacteria and viruses and release toxic metabolic waste.
  2. Organ clean-ups: Programs such as liver cleanse, kidney cleanse, and intestinal cleanup support detoxification organs so they can eliminate accumulated toxins.
  3. Removal of all pollutants: Environmental cleanup reduces exposure to solvents, heavy metals, and other chemical pollutants (dental, home, food)
  4. Mold-free diet: Avoiding mold-contaminated foods prevents continued intake of mycotoxins such as aflatoxin and zearalenone.
  5. Zapping: The zapper delivers specific electrical frequencies that destroy parasites, bacteria, and viruses.

Dr. Clark also emphasized restoring the correct frequency pattern and polarization of organs as part of the healing process.

Chronic inflammation as a systemic process #

Chronic inflammation is rarely caused by a single factor. It usually arises from the interaction of several elements:

  1. Pathogens that infect tissues.
  2. Toxins that weaken organs and immunity.
  3. Food contamination introduces mold toxins.
  4. Environmental pollutants that accumulate in the body.

When these factors combine, the immune system remains permanently activated.

Removing pathogens, toxins, and contaminated foods allows the immune system to return to normal activity. Organs recover their function, tissues heal, and the body can restore its natural balance.
