Dr. Hulda Clark repeatedly emphasized that what we breathe is just as critical to health as what we eat or absorb through the skin. In her research, she identified airborne pollutants as one of the most overlooked yet powerful contributors to disease. These microscopic contaminants bypass digestive filtering and enter directly through the lungs, spreading rapidly to the blood, lymph, and tissues. Once inside, they not only damage respiratory structures but also suppress immune function and facilitate pathogen colonization deep within the body.
Particulate Matter (PM2.5)
Particulate matter smaller than 2.5 microns (PM2.5) is one of the most hazardous forms of air pollution. These ultra-fine particles are produced from:
- Vehicle exhaust
- Industrial emissions
- Construction dust
- Combustion of fuels, including wood and coal
Dr. Clark found that these particles penetrate the lungs and enter the bloodstream, where they become embedded in the arterial walls, lymph nodes, and organ tissues. Their chemical load, often including metals, carbon residues, and solvents, serves as a carrier for pathogens and immune-blocking toxins. She observed that PM2.5:

Health effects associated with PM2.5 include:

Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂)
NO₂ is a sharp-smelling gas primarily produced by:
- Combustion engines (cars, buses, trucks)
- Gas stoves and heating appliances
- Industrial combustion of fossil fuels
According to Dr. Clark’s findings, NO₂ inflames the respiratory tract, increasing its permeability to microbes and toxins. She demonstrated that it:
- Erodes mucosal immunity in the lungs and sinuses
- Promotes colonization by Clostridium, influenza viruses, and mold spores
