• Pathogenic activity: Produces aflatoxin, a potent hepatotoxin and carcinogen. Aflatoxin binds to DNA, disrupts cell division, and inhibits liver regeneration.

Identified as a primary producer of aflatoxin in foods and tissues of cancer patients. Aspergillus was linked to chronic liver overload and impaired detoxification capacity. It is found in moldy grains (corn, rice, wheat), peanuts, pistachios, nuts, beer, wine, cereals, and dried fruits.

Health issues: Liver damage, liver cancer, immune suppression, chronic toxicity, and metabolic breakdown.
