What causes gallstones? Gallstones (or bile stones) can wreak havoc silently. When the liver is full of stones, they form a kind of dam that prevents bile from flowing properly. As a result, the liver becomes increasingly less efficient at eliminating toxins from the body. The excess buildup of toxins can lead to a wide range of symptoms, from allergies to fatigue.
In addition, when a stone becomes lodged in the bile ducts, it can cause severe, intermittent, or constant pain, especially:
- On the right side of the abdomen, under the ribs
- Radiating to the back or right shoulder blade
- Accompanied by nausea or vomiting
- Occurring after fatty meals
Liver congestion can also weaken the immune system and affect digestion, as the intestines do not receive enough bile to properly break down fats. This not only alters intestinal transit but also allows toxins and parasites to remain in the body. Some common consequences include:
- High cholesterol
- Indigestion or bloating after meals
- Chronic constipation
- Persistent fatigue
- Frequent headaches
- Skin problems (acne, hives, eczema)
- Mood changes, irritability, mild depression
- Sensitivity to foods or environmental chemicals
Dr. Hulda Clark wrote that many of these symptoms can improve or even disappear once the liver is freed from stones. The liver cleanse helps restore the free flow of bile, improving both digestion and the body’s detoxification capacity.
