Among the most insidious contaminants Dr. Hulda Clark addressed are persistent organic pollutants (POPs). These chemically stable compounds resist environmental degradation and can persist in the environment for decades. They enter the food chain and accumulate in the human body. These substances often originate from industrial manufacturing, consumer products, and agricultural chemicals. Once absorbed, they settle in fatty tissues, organs, and cellular membranes, disrupting key physiological functions. Their resistance to detoxification makes them particularly dangerous, as they continually interfere with immune regulation, hormone balance, and cellular repair.
Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS)
PFAS, commonly referred to as “forever chemicals,” are among the most widespread POPs. These synthetic compounds are used for their water, stain, and heat-resistant properties in products such as:
- Non-stick cookware (e.g., Teflon)
- • Water-repellent textiles and outdoor gear (e.g., Gore-Tex)
- • Food packaging and greaseproof paper
- • Firefighting foams and industrial lubricants
Dr. Clark identified PFAS-like residues as highly bio-accumulative. Once absorbed, they persist in the bloodstream, liver, and immune tissues for years, subtly undermining organ function and paving the way for chronic disease. Their chemical structure enables them to mimic or block hormone receptors, particularly those related to thyroid, reproductive, and adrenal function. They also disrupt cellular communication, hinder detox enzyme activity, and reduce the resilience of white blood cells.
Health effects associated with PFAS exposure include:
- Hormonal imbalances, infertility, and early onset of puberty
- Immune suppression that results in chronic infections
- Liver damage, altered cholesterol metabolism, and fatty liver disease
- Cancers of the kidneys, testicles, and breasts
- Elevated risk of autoimmune diseases
Dr. Clark also observed that PFAS-like compounds enable parasites and viruses to cross cellular barriers and access internal tissues, especially when combined with solvents or dyes. Their persistent presence distorts bioelectrical function and contributes to tissue polarization disorders, which she linked to the spread of Fasciolopsis buski, EBV, and other chronic infections.
